Executive Chef/Owner, Cheri Walker, grew up with two passions in life: food and music. A classically trained harpist, she performed with several regional symphonies, and various popular groups, including Barry White and his Love Unlimited Orchestra. Shortly after settling on the Long Beach Peninsula she took a job at the Shoalwater Restaurant in Seaview allowing her to indulge her passion for food and wine. Cheri studied with Burgundian chef Dominic Place (The Other Place and Dominic’s Place, Seattle, WA and Girard & Dominic Smoked Seafood, Bothell, WA). She was the head Chef at the Shoalwater for eleven years. During those years she was named one of the top ten chefs in the Northwest by Pacific Northwest Magazine, co-authored a cookbook and shared a panel position with Jacques Pepin at the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) conference in Vancouver, B.C... She continues to play the harp in local productions and in the restaurant during the café's off season. To keep herself busy she regularly rides her thoroughbred, London Fog, and is enjoying a new passion & discipline as a watercolorist.
